Privacy Policy – Mowa
Last updated: August 2026
Overview
Mowa is an Application that acts as an AI-powered career companion — helping users
set goals, track daily tasks, and hold ongoing conversations with an AI assistant about their
general progress ranging anywhere from personal development to professional growth. This Privacy Policy explains what data Mowa collects, how it
is used, and how it is stored.
Data We Collect
To provide Mowa's core functionality, we collect the following:
- Account information — the email address you use to register and sign in.
- Google Sign-In information — if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture URL from Google, used to create and authenticate your account.
- Onboarding responses — the goals, context, and preferences you provide when setting up your profile, used to personalize your plan.
- Task and plan data — the daily tasks, weekly plans, and completion status generated for and by you.
- Chat messages — the conversations you have with Mowa's AI assistant, stored so the assistant can maintain context across sessions.
- Push notification token — a device-specific Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token, used to deliver notifications such as daily nudges and plan updates.
- Basic device and usage data — information such as app version and general usage patterns, used for debugging and improving the app.
- Device and advertising identifiers — when you choose to watch a rewarded video ad to earn extra usage credits, our ad partner (Unity Technologies, via Unity Ads / LevelPlay) may collect device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), general device information, and general, non-precise location signals derived from your IP address, used to serve and measure the ad and to confirm ad completion for reward purposes. Where applicable (for example, under GDPR), whether ads are personalized depends on the consent choice you make; otherwise ads are served non-personalized. We do not share precise GPS location with Unity.
Mowa requires an account to use the app, since your goals, tasks, and conversations are
tied to your profile and personalized over time.
How Data Is Used
Your data is used strictly to:
- Authenticate you and maintain your session, including sending one-time passcodes to your email for sign-in verification
- Generate and adjust your personalized task and weekly plans
- Power conversations with Mowa's AI assistant, including remembering prior context
- Send relevant notifications (e.g. daily nudges, plan updates)
- Improve the app's functionality and reliability
Chat messages and task data may be processed by third-party AI model providers strictly to
generate responses and plan content on Mowa's behalf. See "Third-Party Services" below for
how each provider currently in use handles this data.
Data Storage
Data is stored securely on a backend server and transmitted using secure HTTPS connections.
Authentication uses secure token-based sessions.
Third-Party Services
Mowa uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — used to deliver push notifications.
- Brevo — used to send one-time passcodes (OTPs) to your email address for sign-in verification. Your email address is shared with Brevo solely for this purpose.
- AI Model Providers: Mowa uses OpenRouter to route chat and plan-generation requests to a small set of individually vetted large language model providers — DeepInfra, Venice, Deka LLM, and SiliconFlow, used as the primary path to power the chat assistant and generate task/plan content. Google Gemini is used as a fallback provider when the primary path is unavailable. Data sent to any of these providers is used solely to generate a response to your request, is not retained by the provider beyond that purpose, and is not used to train their models
- Google Sign-In — used as an optional authentication method. We receive basic profile information (name, email, profile picture) from your Google account solely to create and verify your account.
- Unity Ads (Unity Technologies) — used to serve optional rewarded video ads that let users unlock additional chat usage. To maximize ad fill, Unity may work with a network of certified advertising partners (mediated through Unity LevelPlay) to serve ads in the app. The current list of authorized sellers is published at
intricatelabs.site/app-ads.txt. Before showing ads, we ask for your privacy choice directly within the app; depending on your region and your choice, ads may be personalized or non-personalized, or you may be able to opt out of the sale/sharing of your data for advertising purposes. Unity and its mediated partners may collect device identifiers and general location signals for ad delivery and fraud prevention. See Unity's privacy policy for details on their retention and handling of this data, or their data subject request process for Unity-specific data requests.
Your Ad Choices
Where a privacy framework applies to you (for example, GDPR in the EU/UK, or
applicable US state privacy laws), we present a consent screen before showing ads
and apply your choice to how ads are served. You can review or update this choice
at any time from the ad preferences option in the app's Settings. If no such choice
is required for your region, ads are served non-personalized.
Mowa does not sell your personal data. Aside from the services listed above, no other
third-party advertising or analytics SDKs are used.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties except:
- With service providers strictly necessary to operate the app (e.g. hosting, push notifications, AI processing), under confidentiality obligations
- Where required for legal compliance
- Where necessary to prevent abuse or protect the security of the app
Data Retention
Your account data, tasks, plans, and chat history are retained for as long as your account
is active, since Mowa's core value depends on remembering context over time. You can request
deletion of your data at any time — see the link below.
Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated data from within the app, or by
visiting the data deletion page linked below.

children under 13.
